MANILA, Philippines - Talk about turning over a new leaf. Following last year’s highly popular Rose Quartz and Serenity pairing, the Pantone Color Institute has announced Greenery (or Pantone 15-0343) as the color of 2017, describing it as a “yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew.” And while the springtime hue may take its cues from environmentalism, we’re certain that the tangy tone will plant its seeds everywhere else (read: fashion, beauty, design, food, architecture) as well. In fact, Pantone has partnered up with Airbnb for the first time to give travelers an experience that will bring Greenery to life. How’s that for green living? On the fashion front, the spring/summer 2017 runways also gave the green light to the super-zesty shade. From glossy mini dresses at Emilio Pucci and boxy monochrome suits at Arthur Arbesser to striped turtleneck and skirt sets at Laura Biagiotti’s golf-inspired collection, it’s easy to see that the color du jour is flourishing in high fashion. Our takeaway? Don’t just eat your greens, wear ‘em! Here, we present more stylish options for the vibrant YStyle woman.
NAILS: Christian Loubutin nail polish in Mula Lisa
If you’re not ready to fully commit to Pantone’s color prediction just yet, take it out on a test drive via a spunky manicure. We’re crushing hard on Christian Loubutin’s super glossy, gluten-free (!) lacquer, whose highly pigmented formula achieves in just two coats the effect of 20 layers of regular polish. The nail polish comes in a glass faceted bottle with a tall, slim cap inspired by calligraphy, plus a patented triangular brush, custom-designed to pick up the right amount of polish sans those pesky air bubbles. Nailed it.

FRAGRANCE: Hermès Un Jardin sur le Toit
Un Jardin sur le Toit, which translates to “A Garden on the Roof” actually refers to the lavish hanging garden located on the roof of Hermès’ headquarters in Paris. The garden-inspired scent, designed by French perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena, has top notes of basil, pear and apple and heart notes of grass, rose and magnolia.
Light, refreshing, luxe. Perfect.
EARRINGS: Delpozo spring/summer 2017
Handcrafted from sequins of cut glass, iridescent Plexiglas cutouts, pailletes and Swarovski crystals, the fantastical chandelier earrings at Delpozo’s spring presentation culled inspiration from the works of Impressionist painter Joaquín Sorolla and contemporary sculptor Soo Sunny Park. But with each pair taking up to 24 hours to make and with four people involved in the entire process, it comes as no surprise that the statement accessory is only available upon special request.
SHOES: Miu Miu satin slides
Get comfortable—this season, luxe slides are the style set’s destined sole mates. While Lanvin’s bejeweled take on noir steppers added oomph to the sensual silhouettes in Bouchra Jarrar’s debut collection, Prada’s floral-embellished slippers wore perfectly well with the Italian brand’s feathered and checkered designs. Right now, we’re smitten with Miu Miu’s satin rendition, made even prettier with the label’s
signature bows.
MAKEUP: Christian Dior Diorshow Mono eyeshadow in 474 Early
For the Diorshow Mono Spring 2017 Colour Gradation collection, Christian Dior presents a highly saturated lime shade inspired by the fabric textures of the esteemed label’s fashions. Pro tip: If you want an intense solid color effect, use the foam applicator tip. But if you’re going for a perfectly blended look, the brush applicator tip is your best bet. Either way, you’re sure to get a statement stare.
BAG: Céline shoulder bag
If the catwalks are any indication, then shoulder bags are springtime’s coveted carry-on. Metallic fringed styles shone at Elie Saab, chain-strapped miniature lipstick cases are slung on at Valentino, and twist-lock leather bags are embossed with butterflies at Bottega Ventea. We’re holding on to Céline’s rounded version, whose watersnake and calfskin lining is the epitome of discreet luxury.
MAILLOT: Sundae one-piece swimsuit in Green Tea Supreme
It may only be January but here in the tropics, it’s never too early to hit the beach. We love this matcha-colored maillot from local swimwear brand Sundae, whose low-back, low-scoop neck front and fitted waist flatter the curves. Yum.
COAT: Gucci wool coat
Unabashedly bold, this striking single-breasted wool coat from Gucci’s Resort 2017 collection is made to turn heads. Ruffle trims along the sleeves, a black velvet Peter Pan collar and GG pearl buttons give the zingy apple green coat a subtle romantic edge. We’re in love.
SUNGLASSES: Illesteva Milan horn sunglasses
Sun’s up, sunnies out. A cross between an aviator and acetate frame, the handmade Milan sunglasses from contemporary eyewear label Illesteva finds its way to the top of our fave frames this coming summer. And with its iridescent mirrored lenses (offering 100-percent UV protection) providing cool contrast to the horn-patterned temples and gold stainless steel double-nosebridge, can you blame us?
