What the frock
Introducing new pairings to dress down the dress.
MANILA, Philippines - Wearing a dress has always been a foolproof solution to an easy outfit. Put it on, then a pair of shoes, maybe a bag — and go. But in the interest of expanding its repertoire, here are some ideas to maximize this reliable piece’s cost-per-wear. The key is layering — try tying a shirt around the waist to make a column dress fit for day wear, or something more full-on, like a jumpsuit worn underneath a wrap dress, or for a ‘90s spin, a dress worn over a T-shirt. And to further cheat the silhouette, pair it with your default pair of trousers, making the dress less delicate. Length over length is a thing now, anyway — and speaking from personal experience, this combination does not stunt your height; if anything, it enhances it.
