MANILA, Philippines - Is there even a need to talk about the perfect marriage between art and fashion? Consider the collaborations over the years — what major fashion house hasn’t partnered up with a contemporary great to create a gorgeous synergy of styles in one coveted item? Fashion is in itself an art form, from conception to construction, with the garments telling stories of their own.
Inspired by this week’s ongoing Art Fair, we challenged some of Manila’s best young designers to come together and see if they could churn out something that suited both their aesthetics. We spoke style with a London-based Filipina artist we love. We interviewed Clara Balaguer, the coolest chick on the planet. And then some.
