Stars, stripes, and style mark the last hurrah for Style Origin at the Marquee Mall

September Grace Mahino - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Angeles, Pampanga, Philippines — After almost 10 weeks of inspiring imagination all over the country by bringing retail fashion closer to the people, the Ayala Malls’ Style Origin 2013 closed with a bang at the Marquee Mall in Pampanga last July 6.

The Marquee Mall show opened with the high energy moves of B-boys and cheerdancers. After event host Iya Villania welcomed the audience, the parade of clothes started, with some of the hottest celebrity names taking their turn down the catwalk and eliciting screams from the crowd in the process. Spirits (and screams) were kept high even after the fashion show ended, as Bamboo came onstage to perform his hit songs, walking among the audience and even recording himself on their smartphones. During his Tatsulok number, the artist expressed how the mall-goers felt about that evening, repeating particular lyrics again and again: “Hindi matatapos, hindi matatapos, hindi matatapos...”

Alas, all good things come to an end, as the Style Origin did. On the bright side, there is always next year’s installment to look forward to.

From skater bois to Poindexter types and even the rugged huntsman, men of various interests and lifestyles have style options available to them.

The ubiquitous choice

The black and white look? Still going strong.

Showdown at the collar

Pop them, smooth them down, wear them in interesting shapes — collars add interest to any look.
