Man concealer
MANILA, Philippines - Inspired by the success of his Tom Ford Beauty line for women, which started out as a limited line of lipsticks and is now a full-blown cosmetic empire, Tom Ford has decided that it’s high time for men to embrace cosmetics as well, starting with concealer. “I know so many guys — gay, straight, whatever — who steal a woman’s concealer and dab a little on their fingers when no one is looking. It just makes skin look better,†he told WWD. The upcoming nine-piece line, which will be released this fall, will include a face cleanser, eye treatment, moisturizer, purifying mud mask, concealer and bronzing gel that will range from $20 to $60.
The eyes have it
Finally, Alber Elbaz’s long-awaited collaboration with Lancôme is finally available in Manila. Entitled “Hypnôse Show,†the Lanvin creative designer opted to “dress†the brand’s most iconic products in his designs rather than create entirely new palettes. “The real theme running through the collection is the eyes,†he explains, For this collection, he covered Hypnôse Doll Eyes Waterproof mascara in red hearts, the Hypnôse Star Waterproof mascara electric blue and black stars and the Hypnôse Drama Waterproof mascara pink and black polka dots. The Hypnôse Palettes were also restyled by Albert Elbaz in Doll Eyes, Star Eyes and Drama Eyes versions. Alber Elbaz completes this temporary collection with false lashes showcased in illustrated cases.
The Alber Elbaz Hypnôse Show for Lancôme will be available in Manila only until July 22.
Major makeup
The Shiseido-owned makeup line Majolica Majorca recently launched its Moonlight Virgin line. The Lash Expander Edge Meister is difficult to wield with its duo comb, but contains 4mm brown long fibers that really lengthen lashes, without that scary spider-lash effect. The Shiny Highlight and Shiny Ray Liner can actually help fake a luminous glow. The Little Humming Book II is the second collection out of the four Little Humming Book chapters for Majolica Majorca’s 10th anniversary. The little palette offers bang for buck with an eye cream base, two eye shadows and a lip gloss.
