The Souk is all about fashion on a budget
MANILA, Philippines - A great sale is always hard to say no to.
Centrio Mall in Cagayan de Oro City held its first-ever Style Souk last May 26 to 27, and it was a melting pot of good shopping deals for apparel and cosmetics. After the previous night’s well-attended Style Origin fashion show, it was easy to surmise that mall-goers were inspired to see if they could spruce up their wardrobe with pieces that come with great discounts.
After all, Style Origin, the Ayala Malls’ yearly fashion event, aims to inspire imagination among Filipino shoppers to elevate their fashion sense and lifestyles.
Participating retail brands at the Centrio Mall Style Souk were a mix of global and Filipino labels, with some homegrown names adding local flavor: Adidas, Bettina, Jockey, Puma, Rockport, RRJ, Sperry Top-sider, Spruce, What A Girl Wants and Yves Rocher. Mannequin vignettes dressed in different styles were propped up on a stage, providing a capsule collection of looks that can be put together from the merchandise on offer. Further shopping incentive was the BPI Amore booth, which provided free Amore bags to BPI Amore Visa Card holders who warmed their plastic at the Style Souk registers.
Centrio Mall has been open for just a little over six months, but the people of Cagayan de Oro were more than ready to welcome Ayala Malls’ Style Souk. With the encouraging turnout for this year, there’s no other way for next year’s installment to go but bigger and better.
