MANILA, Philippines - The Olympics isn’t the only competition taking center stage. At the recent Preview Best-Dressed Ball guests came in their Olympic best in accordance with the night’s “athletic chic” theme. Preview editor in chief Pauline Suaco-Juan stated that this year’s theme mirrored what is currently happening in the international runway, “This year, sportswear is the biggest trend because July is the month of the Olympics. That is also why even our local fashion landscape is gearing towards athletic gear.”
Hosted by Karen Pamintuan, the Best-Dressed Ball started with Suaco-Juan giving a toast to the 10 best-dressed ladies in the country, namely Walang Hanggan star and Preview July cover model Dawn Zulueta, actresses Megan Young and Lovi Poe, accessory designer Emi Jorge, San Vicente, Palawan Mayor Pie Alvarez, mother and wife Linda Ley, writer Mara Coson, entrepreneur Tessie Singson, jewelry designer Joyce Makitalo, and designer (and Preview Emerging Fashion Talent Award pioneer batch member) Vania Romoff.
With the aim of pushing fashion boundaries through this year’s 10 best-dressed, Suaco-Juan added,“We hope this list inspires you to be more open to new looks and to use clothes to express yourself. It’s a mundane thing, dressing up, but really, it becomes a wondrous thing when you allow it to tell your story.”
