MANILA, Philippines - You know you’re good when people come clamoring for seconds and thirds.
Eric delos Santos and Jerome Lorico return to the ready-to-wear fold with Folded and Hung. This summer, the label teams up with two of the most sought-after Filipino designers after what has become a lucrative two-year partnership.
Eric delos Santos was inspired by the colors of the beach where the sun shines brighter and the people enjoy the breeze. Orange, blue, turquoise and pink make up the collection’s palette. His muse? Every woman. “Women come in different forms and sizes and the best thing is that it does suit everyone,” Eric explains. “The idea is to make the woman feel confident, empowered as well as sexy whenever she wears my clothes.”
Menswear designer Jerome Lorico took a different tack, combing both tailored looks with a laid-back vibe. Jerome created tailored and structured long- and short-sleeved polos with leather accents to highlight the masculine cuts. Browns and blacks are the dominant colors. Inspired by the Brazilian rainforest, there were hues like green, red and brown with watermelons and parrots for prints. “Summer is the season I enjoy the most because people are allowed to play with colors, allowing men to experiment and explore in fashion. This is quite challenging especially for most boys who try to stick to the tried and tested, so hopefully this becomes an avenue for them to be more comfortable with different things.”
