So we worked directly with research material on fossilized bones under water like our shark tooth and fish fossil,” says YStyle’s Bea Ledesma, who happens to be one half of the design duo behind Narra. “Narra is about jewelry you can wear all the time. Jewelry you can grow old with.”

Ria Prieto, the other half of Narra concentrates on the elements that create their one-of-a-kind pieces. “We chose gold vermeil because by using precious metals we know our pieces will last forever and actually age to a soft patina with time, which we find beautiful.”

Even if the there are only five designs available, the fingerprints of the bearers life is seen through how the jewelry fades and get personalized in time.

Wear with all: Narra is designed to be worn dressed up or dressed down.

“The idea is to make jewelry that is to be worn every day, in fact it does not have to be removed. It can be a signature piece like a scent which is beautiful worn alone, or may be layered with other accessories without having to worry if it goes with it. In fact, layering it adds more character to your look. We would like to think our pieces are timeless, strong and yet elegant,” Ria shares.

It’s midnight and I’m about to sleep. I have my Narra shark jaw necklace dancing on my collarbone. It’s a patchy mix of silver and rose gold and I will hold up for a nightmare that when I wake up Kim Kardashian will be wearing it as well, like 10 of them together.

For heaven’s sake, let some things stay sacred.
