Stacy Rodriguez's lookbook and film collab with Gabbie Tatad
MANILA, Philippines - Each woman is a combination of polar opposites, of well-mannered graces and untempered passions—a mystery whose needs must be understood and appreciated.
“Gemini” is a response to the feminine enigma, a collaboration between designer Stacy Rodriguez’s Glasnost and Gabriela Tatad’s Aláti accessories.
Rodriguez’s designs make a strong statement with colors and prints that are refined adaptations of her classic bleach-dye. The split-pattern pieces, made to be worn in several ways, have subtle color blockings by means of a cuff or a strap, and the unveiling layers of hues and textures bring focus to the fabric — one of the young designer’s more brazen design choices.
Tatad’s accessories play on light and textures through an exploration of colors that are new to the Aláti palette: olive green, peachy coral, soft purple, royal blue, marbled metal. Each accessory strikes a balance between industrial and delicate with their mix of dried corals, with gold wirework and baked clay centerpieces mixed with semi-precious stones, and the different lacquer finishes that can be found in each piece.
Models Pauline Prieto and Helena Belmonte are the faces of “Gemini,” each one equally beautiful and representative of a different form of sensuality and candor. The collaboration’s look book was helmed by photographers An and En Estrada of YourEvilTwin, who also shot and directed “Gemini,” the accompanying fashion film produced by Overmind Creatives.
“Gemini” was launched this week at Privé Luxury Lounge and will be available for viewing on the Glasnost and Aláti websites. Glasnost and Aláti will start accepting orders for the new collection soon.
