Streetwear: a term used to describe fashion that is considered to have emerged, not from the studios, but from the grassroots. Though streetwear was born in the ‘80s from the sub-culture of America’s most famous metropolises, New York and Los Angeles, a similar movement was taking place across the Atlantic in the UK. For the Brits, however, streetwear is synonymous with Boxfresh, a newly-introduced clothing brand in the metro inspired by an eclectic range of music and art and was born out of, according to the brand’s global website, “a hedonistic generation evolving through acid jazz, trip hop, drum and bass into UK garage, grime and dub step.”

At the recent launch of Boxfresh at the Ronac Art Center, the men of Manila came in sleek and polished garb. Undeniably, these gents all felt that extremely cool vibe all throughout the event.
