Along came spider lashes
MANILA, Philippines - What used to be a beauty blunder is now a major makeup trend, as seen on many of the fall runway shows like Chloe, Valentino, Miu Miu and Lanvin. Just in time for the rains, it’s time to put aside those lush, feathery lashes and pump it up with this bold, hint-of-trashy style that recalls the heavier eye looks of the ’60s but currently popularized by Kim Kardashian (who uses falsies to achieve maximum spider effect). The top and bottom lashes are long, separated and heavy, sometimes even clumpy — so be not afraid to paint your lashes with a haphazard hand.
Get the look:
1. Curl your eyelashes — this quickly adds length.
2. Using a wet, volumizing mascara, comb through your lashes for the first layer, separating the individual lashes.
3. Add extra mascara, but instead of combing it through, dab it in all over, from side to side and root to tip.
4. Use tweezers to clump a few strands together, creating points.
5. Pair with a strong red lip.
