MANILA, Philippines - He’s scored hits with tracks such as Billboard-topper World, Hold On, and the World Cup 2006 anthem Love Generation, but producer and DJ Bob Sinclar (born Christophe Le Friant) has also racked up points for his personal brand of sartorialism. Quite unabashed (a green mesh tank top or a tailored jacket over a bare chest) and out-of-this world (huge, white angel wings for one promotional photo), Sinclar’s fashion sense is like his music: jarring, engaging and ultimately fun — with the surfer hair and near six-pack completing the image.
Manila gets to see Sinclar’s deck and fashion antics on Jan. 15 as he performs at the World Trade Center in the “First Big Party of 2011.” This will be the first time the Grammy-nominated artist will be performing in Manila and though fans are expecting his signature tracks, it is also hoped that he will come out spinning with other mixes, namely the trippy Rainbow of Love and the Lala song. One sure play is Tik Tok, his brash rasta-reggae collab with Sean Paul.
