Make Up For Ever has created an exciting treat for beauty enthusiasts.
David Arbid, the international makeup artist and brand ambassador of Make Up For Ever Paris, created special looks for YStyle. A true renaissance man, his skill with the makeup palette is not limited to runway looks; he holds a baccalaureate degree in literature and a master’s degree in human resources.
He began his craft seven years ago and graduated from the Make Up For Ever Academy in Paris in 2005.
David’s work finds its home in Paris but has taken him all over the world. Some exciting projects include fashion shows and photo shoots for Lanvin in Paris, work with France’s premiere television stations and French theater productions. David’s work takes him to different countries in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia where he trains the different Make Up For Ever makeup artists and promotes makeup artistry with the press.
Makeup 101
David lists his top three makeup commandments.
1. Clear skin is the most important. Make it stick with Mist and Fix spray.
2. Moisturize!
3. A woman should have blush, lipstick, powder and mascara. All else will follow.
Makeup in the AM
Focus on clear skin and follow subtle sunset tones to warm up your look. Don’t be afraid to use colors that glisten but don’t try to be too adventurous. Focus on warming up your complexion and using colors that flatter you and softly define your features with soft blended strokes using a warm brown. Don’t switch the snooze button on just because it’s morning.
Makeup in the PM
Soft dashes of color are key in creating a look that is both memorable and timeless. Smoky eyes result in inky lids; a soft wash of lavender or a similar pastel in shimmer can give the same effect without the Elvira effect. Raccoon eyes are best left in the wild.
