Tin of Fashion Ate the World
Who’s your fashion icon?
I really like Agyness Deyn’s way of mixing prints, styles, eras, colors and textures. I love how she looks effortlessly chic all the time. I admire her courage and imagination to step out of the norm. Just like hers, my fashion style tends to be a mix of a few elements.
Have you ever regretted an outfit?
I think it’s really funny how I used to wear loose-fitting jeans back in grade school. I didn’t know back then how hideous and unflattering they are.
What’s your greatest fashion achievement?
Not the greatest but on the list of achievements would be working for Malaysia-based fashion website, Tongue in Chic. I’ve still got a long way to go and I’ve still got a lot to learn!
Karl of Inkarlcerating
Who’s your fashion icon?
Sex Pistols bassist Sid Vicious. He was so stylishly vicious and sexy. Plus I have a secret dream of becoming a rock star.
What’s the first fashionable outfit you recall wearing?
Biker jacket and leather boots.
What’s your greatest fashion achievement?
It would have to be being included in a book about fashion bloggers: Style Diaries by Simon Werle.
Kookie of Death by Platforms
Who’s your fashion icon?
I adore Mary Kate Olsen because she never disappoints, fashion-wise. Her style is just addictive. I love her part hippie, part grunge and part urban look. She also adds her own wicked flair to anything she wears. She’s not a slave to trends; in fact, she sets the trends.
What’s your no-fail outfit?
Blazer + high-waist shorts + tank top + platform boots + hat + cross necklace.
What’s your greatest fashion achievement?
Getting recognized by fashion magazines and being considered as a fashion inspiration by people from different parts of the world.
Hanna of Little Miss Dress Up
Who’s your fashion icon?
One of my favorite fashion icons is Little Edie Beale. She was a beautiful and fragile human being who had incredible style. Who else could live on nothing and manage to be draped in the most eccentric and inventive costumes? While society pages were littered with banal and boring heiresses whose only claim to fame was wearing the latest trend from Paris, Edie dressed for battle with old clothes she found scattered around her dilapidated East Hampton mansion. Later in life, she lost all her money, her hair and (some daresay) what was left of her sanity. But when fate frowned upon her, she smiled in return, always with that signature scarf/tea towel/sweater wrapped around her head.
What’s the height of poor taste for you?
Poor manners, bigotry, and polyester.
What’s your greatest fashion achievement?
My greatest fashion achievement is forging a stronger friendship with my co-blogger Rosanna Aranaz. I feel truly blessed to be able to share my love for fashion with one of my very good friends.
Lissa of Chictopia
Who’s your fashion icon?
I have a lot actually: Madonna and Lady Gaga for their out-of-this-world fashion; Carine Roitfeld, Giovanna Battaglia, Nicole Richie and Rachel Zoe because these people really make an effort to dress up every single day and I love how they constantly wow the world with their choice of outfits. They’re never predictable, dull or boring.
What’s the most ridiculous Halloween costume you’ve ever worn?
It would be my Halloween costume for this year — I can’t tell yet but I’ll be covered entirely in black feathers!
What’s your greatest fashion achievement?
Being recognized as a blogger. It’s overwhelming and flattering when random people approach me and tell me that they read my blog. It has become a huge source of inspiration and a challenge for me to constantly study and reinvent my style. Another achievement is being able to work for the country’s top stylist, Miss Liz Uy. There’s always something new to learn every single time that I’m with her and the fact that I get to be surrounded with the brightest people in the fashion industry never fails to amaze me.
