Chief fashion director and PR of Channel V Catherine Arambulo is known to take risks in fashion. Whether it’s wearing peep-toe boots in a dog park or going to a red carpet event in a visually arresting deconstructed cocktail dress by Puey Quiñones, everyone who knows her knows it’s not about the outfit but that infectious laugh of hers that makes her memorable. Believe me, I’m a witness.
Her skin is already flawless but that’s just for starters. A heavy helping of frost is not what makes the skin glow. For Catherine’s sharp features, a hazy glaze of shimmer enhances her strong lines without being overbearing.
As a stylist, she’s all about experimenting. She shows us how she does that voodoo she does so well with timeless earthy tones from the San-San makeup line. The fashion maven is really down to earth. San San is awesomely SPF-armored cosmetics down to the eye shadow. All this without breaking the bank!
Eyes: Catherine’s favorite feature is her almond-shaped Asian eyes: “I strongly believe in the saying, ‘The eyes are the window to the soul.’ I like a strong emphasis on the eyes and eye contact are very essential in any situation,” says the PR queen of Channel V and Embassy.
For party-friendly peepers that won’t smudge, use colors that mimic the skin tone. Swipe the coral shimmer all over the eyes from San San Age Defense Eyeshadow (P101) Trio then lightly tap the brown shimmer on the crease without going all the way and along the lashline as well. Highlight the brow bone with the rose shimmer. Blend everything well until it just looks like a subtle wash.
Cheeks: Tint cheeks lightly by brushing a blush brush lightly over the eyeshadow trio. This creates a bronzy rose effect. Just apply lightly. This flush complements Catherine’s balanced lifestyle, “I eat healthy, exercise regularly, drink a lot of water and sleep well. A healthy mind fuels a beautiful body. I also meditate, thanks to my amazing boyfriend Carlo!” enthuses Catherine.
Skin: “Less is always more. You don’t need to pile on a lot of anything. It’s all about self-confidence and a lot of personality!” Catherine shares. When creating a watercolor effect of colors on the face it is kind of silly to use an armor of base. Conceal the inner corners of the eyes, sides of the nose and tips of the nose with concealer. Catherine used San San concealer in Olive (P99) and then evened out everything with San San Pressed Powder in shade 02 (P97). It helps to set everything with a light mist of water.
Lips: A gentle swipe of San San 04 Shimmer Lipstick (P sets the look. Blot lips twice even if it’s just a shimmer lipstick to add lasting power and lightly run a dust of translucent powder over it. After all, Catherine’s mantra of beauty is “Simple, classic and timeless are always elegant.”
