MANILA, Philippines - On July 24, join other nature lovers in the Tree Planting and Nurturing Activity in the Mt. Makiling Forest Reserve (MFR) organized by Candy Dizon in cooperation with the Makiling Center for Mountain Ecosystems. For only P750, a volunteer will have 10 seedlings to plant in the 4,000-square-meter open area in MFR, and will be provided transportation, breakfast, and lunch for the day. The project aims to reforest MFR, with a goal of 10,000 indigenous seedlings planted within the year to improve the ecological balance and environmental condition of the area. The reforested section will also serve as a demonstration area of a successful tree planting project. One hundred volunteers are needed for the activity. Interested participants can email Candy Dizon at candy_dizon@yahoo.com by July 18.
