MANILA, Philippines - Fashion and philanthropy come together once again as Style Bible announces its first online event, The Ballet Barbie Sale.
Last March 17, Ballet Philippines in collaboration with over 40 esteemed Filipino designers auctioned off one-of-a-kind, couture-clad Barbie dolls for the benefit of their laudable scholarship program. Manila’s most gracious good Samaritans gathered at the Peninsula Manila Hotel.
Ballet Philippines was able to raise a hefty amount, with many guests placing their bids at the silent auction. The dolls of Pitoy Moreno and Cary Santiago fetched a generous amount of P100,000 and P80,000 each at the live auction.
Even with the meritorious success of the event, a few of the 200 or so dolls remained unsold. Hence, Style Bible approached Ballet Philippines to continue the fundraiser online, resulting in “The Ballet Barbie Sale” (www.stylebible.ph/barbie).
Fashion enthusiasts, doll collectors and philanthropists alike can purchase Barbies wearing designs by folks like Dennis Lustico, Ivar Aseron, Rhett Eala and many more.
The online scheme will give buyers another chance to take home their own fashionably adorned dolls and lest we forget, 35 dedicated dance scholars will be rewarded for their inspiring contribution to Philippine ballet.
