Where beauty has a name
MANILA, Philippines - The launch of Beauty by SM, the flagship store of the new skincare and cosmetics center of SM, began with plenty of fanfare. The event opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Robert McDonald, Global CEO of Procter & Gamble, Martin So, CEO for Health and Beauty Asia, and Robert Sun, Watsons Personal Care Philippines CEO.
Guests were greeted by hair experts Jude Hipolito and Rose Velasco who shared the latest on hair trends and haircare. James Cooper gave some guests a makeover with his own line of cosmetics while trained nutritionists from Alli, a new slimming product, gave consultations on body mass indexing.
“The launch of our Beauty by SM flagship store in Makati signals a new era, “says Robert Sun, CEO for Watsons Personal Care Philippines. “We can now take beauty to a new level and have lined up many more stores to be renovated to provide our customers a unique shopping experience.”
Sun adds that the new store in SM Makati is envisioned to be a preferred beauty destination with its 7,000 unique products, 72 fragrance brands, and 36 cosmetics brands. It also has 52 skin care brands and 16 exclusive brands including Tri-Aktiline, Clinelle, Clorescience, 4U2, Ardell, Kiss, Beauty Credits and Ianti.
“Beauty by SM sets a new standard for beauty in Manila,” says Nigel Healy, SM retail consultant. “The architectural design of our flagship store by a highly acclaimed New York-based architectural firm offers our customers a chance to explore beauty in contemporary and relaxed interiors.”
“The launch of our flagship store is timely because we have noticed that the tastes of our customers have been changing,” says Victoria Encarnacion, Beauty by SM director for marketing. “SM has been upgrading its stores and its merchandise for fashion, the home, and children. It’s also right that there will be a better cosmetics line.”
