Tees for solidarity
MANILA, Philippines - It seems there are no bounds to the collaborations fashion houses come up with. Mango, after successfully tying up with Spanish bombshell Penelope Cruz for an extended line, launched a collection with bestselling writer Paolo Coelho.
Under the name Mango & Paulo Coelho, the Spanish fashion brand and the famous Brazilian writer launched the second collection of women’s T-shirts illustrated with six inspiring quotes donated by the famous and most-translated living author today. (His books are sold in 160 countries.) Each message is a very condensed version of Coelho’s novels, mostly flaunting the ideals of love, identity and universal oneness. Choose between new age wisdom (“When you want something, the whole Universe conspires to help you realize your desire”) or self-encouraging words (“What is the real ‘I’? It’s what you are, not what others make of you.”).
Part of the proceeds are donated to the novelist’s charity organisation, The Paulo Coelho Institute, a non-profit making organisation funded exclusively by the author’s copyright, which donates its resources to the most underprivileged in Brazilian society, the children and the elderly.
