MANILA, Philippines - Lace brooches aren’t exactly grandma territory any longer.
There’s a way to look ladylike without entering prehistoric territory — and, no, it doesn’t involve Botox.
Designer Ciege Cagalawan came up with a cute way to accessorize any boring old dress.
With a few scraps of lace, some beads (just dig into your mom’s old sewing kit if you’re feeling especially cheap), you can turn trash into gold (literally, if you cover it with gold beads) in a matter of minutes.
Materials
Scraps of lace
Beads
Needle and thread
Safety pin
Scissors
Step 1
Unevenly fold the lace. Once you’re satisfied with its appearance, secure by stitching.
Step 2
Cut off excess lace.
Step 3
Sew in beads as desired.
Step 4
Sew in safety pin at the back.
