Korean beauty lab and high-end Bench Fix open

When all other businesses come crashing down, only one stands tall and triumphant: yes, the salon industry is booming. No matter what the economic state may be, women (and men!) still find their way and time for a bit of an aesthetic fix. (After all, if the money market paints a gray picture, why conform?)

Alex Carbonell, a pioneer in the beauty industry for 20 years, has teamed up with the Bench Group and opened Studio Fix Salon by Alex Carbonell at Greenbelt 5. The salon, designed by architect Miguel Pastor, boasts clean, minimal interiors, an excellent staff and skills and technique Alex passed on to his artists (he is also the learning director for all Bench Fix Salons). His cutting methods are personalized, from short pixie cuts to long layers and hair treatments and color are by Schwarzkopf and Revlon.

Another innovative move for the Bench Group is the collaboration of Bench Fix Lab and Kérastase. Located in Glorietta 4, this is the only salon that houses a Kérastase Lounge, a private room where you can get all your hair treatments with the bonus of a hot stone massage, minus the stressful sounds of the blow driers and chemical smells of hair coloring.

On the international front, we see a Korean invasion with the opening of Park Jun’s Beauty Lab in Glorietta 3. Five Korean hair stylists have flown to Manila to work their signature cuts, colors and visions on trends. The salon is popular for their top three services: the Volume Rebonding straightens the hair while giving volume to the roots, the Magic Wave which creates natural looking curls and Perming.
