Wang and Shiseido cosmetic collaboration

MANILA, Philippines - Alexander Wang, best known for his Flashdance-inspired oversize shredded sweaters and body-con dresses, just debuted his collaborative efforts with Japanese cosmetics giant Shiseido in Tokyo.

The 12-piece collection for the Maquillage line is made up of lip glosses, lipsticks and eyeshadow. Peach and nude-toned hues dominate the set of lip colors.

This isn’t the first time Wang has collaborated with the makeup company. For his 2009 fall-winter presentation, Shiseido artistic director Dick Page helmed the maquillage team, creating a look he dubbed “monochromatic and masculine with sharpness and precision.” The moody makeup consisted of a neutral palette of grays and browns to offset the collection’s foxtail-fringed jackets and tough, bra-exposing suits.

Expect the collection to drop in Asia by the end of July before hitting US shores. — BJL
