Launched just yesterday, the newly-debuted indie label Poivre (French for pepper) made its presence known to the public with plenty of bubbly and chocolates to go around at the opening party. Made up of figure-friendly dresses, designer Carmina Sanchez notes that its “lightweight, no-frills fabric accents the positive and hides a real woman’s secrets.” In that case, all that champagne and chocolates everyone devoured at the party? Even if their hips took on a pre-period bloat, no one would be the wiser.
“It’s a line comprised mostly of basic colors and safe neutrals to suit a variety of figures,” says Sanchez. She sums up the line in three words: “Simple, sexy, sassy.”
I call it camouflage on the cheap.
