Welcome to the fold
Quite a few trends have made a marked return to the fold. From the boxy pleats of a smart tuxedo dress to the frisky ruffles of a linen romper, it’s been a frill ride for fans of all things sweet and frilly. A few frocks have gone in a decidedly ladylike direction, pinning a draped, ruched neckline over a dainty floral dress or pairing a blouson top with a column of ruffles draped elegantly over the front, while some are a little more risqué like a strapless ruched minidress in a psychedelic floral pattern.
Possibility, an in-house brand of The Ramp, became an object of ardor after presenting their latest collection. Designer Anikka Aquino makes reference to the trend by offering a scalloped neckline dress in white with dainty pintucked ruffles dotting the side of the hips, swirling into a skirt with some definite swing.
“Key items include asymmetrical and bustier dresses made of figure-flattering cotton and jersey,” says Aquino, who also put together a few ensembles that wouldn’t look out of place in the office, including separates that boast the trend’s signature ruffles and pleats.
Her way of saying “pleats” and “thank you.”
