For Valentine’s, jewelry designer Ciara Marasigan-Serumgard and local patisserie Bizu both pay tribute to love. Ciara created a limited edition, luscious and almost edible-looking bracelet baptized the “Love Cuff.” Bizu concocted the ultimate aphrodisiac in a sumptuous limited edition chocolate cake. Milk, dark chocolate ganache, Kahlua, crème brulee and sable crust topped with strawberry miroir finish and chocolate nougatine, aptly called “Desire.” Together, the “Love Cuff” and “Desire” can be ordered specially with equally precious and delicate Ecuadorian roses only for the season at all Bizu branches. The gift set (called the Passion Box) comes with a special donation card to the Virlanie Foundation.

Machiavelli Chocolatier New York’s founder Raul Matias, who originally hails from the Philippines, infuses Asian flavors into his unique confections, such as the Mango Lait, Guava Asia, Purple Yam Yum, Jasmine Blossom, Ivoire Jack and Lychee Noir. With a literary name and such exotic flavor combinations, this brand of bon bons appeals to intelligent, adventurous buyers. “I want my products and clients to be passionate, impulsive, but at the same time practical and pragmatic; sexy and fashionable but at the same time smart and sensible,” Matias says. Very Machiavellian indeed.
