Catch your favorite French films at a theater way nearer than you think.

MANILA, Philippines — The French Film Fest is always one of the most exciting cultural events in town, if only because we get to see some of the best of French cinema at an affordable price, and in the comfort of a nice cinema. This year, there’s a strong crop of drama, action, comedy and documentary films. You’ve got critically acclaimed Personal Shopper with Kristen Stewart, a drama/mystery about a celebrity personal shopper who begins to receive messages from an unknown source. There’s also Épouse-moi Mon Pote, a hilarious story about friendship and the trials of immigration.

There will also be the festival’s yearly tribute to Philippine cinema. On June 12 the year, the festival will feature two films by Raymond Red (Palme d’Or-winning short film Anino and Himpapawid). There will also be Bagahe by director Zig Dulay, which won the grand prize at the Vesoul Asian Film Festival this year.

The 23rd French Film Festival is happening in Manila until Tuesday, June 12. Screenings throughout the city will be in Greenbelt 3, Makati and Central Square, Bonifacio Global City. There will also be a two-day screening at UP Town Center, Quezon City. Tickets are at P150, to cover operational costs of the cinema.

But if you live a little far away from Manila, no sweat. For the first time ever, the French Film Fest will make its way to Abreeza Mall in Davao City on June 21 and 22. It’ll also be back at Ayala Center Cebu from June 25 to 27.
