Let’s volt in: The Giordano x Voltes V collection has everything from shirts to caps.

MANILA, Philippines - We all have our favorite Saturday morning cartoons, but the ones after school will always hold a special place in our hearts. Voltes V, the classic anime series, is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year (it first aired in 1977 in Japan, and a year later in the Philippines), and Giordano commemorates this with a new collection.

The Giordano x Voltes V collection was launched last Aug. 12 at the Glorietta Activity Center, where the space was filled with activities centered around the beloved anime. There were different stations that were dedicated to each of the main characters of the show. It was also a great way to introduce them to the younger generation who otherwise wouldn’t have known about the show.

Activities in the launch include a shooting range type of game called “Shoot like Steve.” In “Agile like Jamie,” the participant had to dodge swinging obstacles while crossing a platform. A mechanical bull ride and a sumo battle was the activity of choice for adrenaline junkies. They also had to build something with 15 bricks in a span of 60 seconds in “Tinker like Little Jon.”

Apart from the activities, there was a Giordano kiosk within the event that featured their new Voltes V merch, which ranges from T-shirts to caps and hoodies. The clothes featured cool designs that brought the 40-year-old anime into 2017, with cool and modern design in different variations from big graphics to small details.
