MANILA, Philippines – You might’ve have been hearing about a certain movie from all your cool friends and immediately felt bad that you missed seeing it. Thankfully, you have one last shot to avoid FOMO as the award-winning and breakout film of the recent QCinema International Film Festival, Apocalypse Child is having a one night only screening this Monday, Nov. 9, at Rockwell Power Plant Mall.
From Mario Cornejo and Monster Jimenez, Apocalypse Child stars Sid Lucero as a surfing instructor and the supposed son of legendary director Francis Ford Coppola. Set in Baler, Aurora the former setting of Apocalypse Now (a.k.a. one of the best films of all time), it’s an inspired film that often delves into the past and how we celebrate it — and become haunted by it at the same time. Apocalypse Child won best film, best director (Mario Cornejo), best supporting actress (Annika Dolonius), and best artistic achievement for editing at the recent QCinema festival and has been praised by many as not only the best film of the festival but one of the best Filipino movies ever. So best head on over to Rockwell this Monday night and let everyone know that we aren’t cancelling the apocalypse anytime soon.
