Weekend walwal
MANILA, Philippines - It’s a long weekend but if you’re like us, you’re probably just spending it in the city. That doesn’t mean the next three days will be a total loss. Here are some of the things you can do to cure you of your FOMO.
SEE: Trainwreck
Amy Schumer a.k.a. the best comedian in the business cemented her place at the top of the mountain with her debut film, Trainwreck. Schumer plays Amy Townsend in her pseudo biopic directed by the current godfather of comedy, Judd Apatow. The film also stars LeBron James in an MVP-esque performance, arguably stealing the whole damn show. The film is only being shown at Ayala Mall cinemas, so check the sched before you ‘wreck yourself.
EAT: Bun Appetit’s Pop-Up
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably seen those delicious lobster rolls all over Instagram. If you’ve been dying to try Manila’s tastiest sandwich, head on over to The Red Light in P. Burgos, Makati tomorrow, Aug. 29, for the last day of their pop-up restaurant. Besides their lobster rolls, they’ll also be serving up their shrimp rolls, crab rolls, garlic noodles, and our personal fave, their grilled corn. Check out their Instagram account: @bun_appetit for more information.
LISTEN: Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness
Fans of Something Corporate and Jack’s Mannequin have been waiting for this moment and that moment has finally arrived. On Sunday, Aug. 30, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness will finally be performing in Manila over at the Hard Rock Café. While the set list will mostly be comprised of hits from his latest self-tilted album, the chance to hear Dark Blue and/or Punk Rock Princess live is worth more than the price of admission.
