YS Open Call: Frequently asked questions

MANILA, Philippines - The first day of the Young Star Open Call is happening tomorrow — do you know what to do? Here’s a list of the frequently asked questions we’ve received from applicants all over. Take notes, kids.

When and where will the Open Call be held?

The Open Call is on Feb. 21 and 28 at Edsa Beverage Design Studio. Follow @edsabdg for more info on the venue. Their food and drinks are pretty sweet, too.

What do I need to bring? Will they need to be hard copies?

We require all applicants to submit their CV and a portfolio, whether for writing, photography, or illustration. Writers, please bring hard copies so we can evaluate your work immediately. Artists and photographers can bring PDFs of your work and present them in tablets or laptops.

Do you need to attend both dates?

No, you do not. One day would be enough.

I’m busy with school right now. Are you looking for full-time staffers?

We are looking for interns, permanent members, new contributors, and potential columnists.

How will I know if I get accepted?

We will notify you via e-mail. Or we will dispatch an owl to deliver a letter to your house.
