As far as Valentine’s goes, no one wants to be accused of being part of that one couple that makes their mission statement to go balls-to-the-wall Justin and Britney at the VMA’s matchy-matchy. Not that there’s anything wrong with being so in sync with your significant other that your personal styles start to overlap — but how about not letting that coagulate into one ridiculously saccharine hot mess? Take couple dressing down a notch with low-key his and hers pieces from local labels that are still totally sociably acceptable to wear in public. Everyone else’s Instagram feed will thank you.
