MANILA, Philippines - English rock band Bastille took over the local airwaves with their electrifying hit Pompeii. But their album “Bad Blood,” released in March 2013, proved that the quartet is more than just a one-hit wonder. Certified platinum in the United Kingdom, their album also made it to #11 on the US Billboard 200 upon its release 2013. Later on, the album was nominated for British Album of the Year at the 2014 Brit Awards.
Bastille recently kicked off their Bad Blood tour this November and they are set to rock Manila in January 5 at the World Trade Center. Get ready to dance and sing your hearts out to the signature synth-pop sounds of Things We Lost in Fire, Of The Night, and of course, Pompeii. Aside from the tour, the band has also collaborated with the likes of Haim and MNEK for a mixtape called “VS.”
Call it history repeating itself or plain coincidence, but British bands are making a big impact in music again. And we certainly don’t mind Bastille taking over our radios.
