Pumped up kicks

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Millennial’s unofficial motto seems to be “Busy is better than bored.” Even when we’re lounging around at home during the summer holidays, we seem to be deeply involved in a multitude of things: updating our blogs, baking cupcakes, realigning our chakras… But let’s be real, there’s very little point in getting busy if we aren’t going to suit up for the occasion.

Skateboarding favorite Supra has long been coming up with shoes that are durable enough to withstand a million ollies. There’s a bit of roughness to each shoe (even the sleek Stacks Vulc has a hint of danger to it) so dirtying them up during an afternoon at the park isn’t just welcome, it’s almost required.

Staying close to its Swedish heritage, Tretorn’s sneakers borrows a lot of the clean and polished cool that makes the youth of Scandinavia some of the world’s best dressed. But worry not about looking dull while accompanying your mom to her supermarket runs — Tretorn has recently released a collection of Nylites and Ottos with prints by the late Australian designer Florence Broadhurst. Think retro tropicalia and punchy paisley that—dare we say—are so pretty it hurst? —Margarita Buenaventura
