MANILA, Philippines - Imagine this: the soft breeze blowing in the air, grass under your feet, a cup of chilled wine in your hands, and a vast collection of artworks in front of you. Sounds appealing? If you answered yes, then check out Art in the Park happening on Sunday, March 23 from 10a.m. to 10p.m.
In its eighth year, Art in the Park stays true to its mission of bringing art into a more relaxed setting. But this time, it comes back bigger than ever. Participating galleries such as Art Lab, Black Gallery, Canvas, Gallery Orange, Silverlens and the UP College of Fine Arts will adorn the entirety of Jaime Velasquez Park in Salcedo Village, Makati. From traditional paintings and photographs to illuminated boxes, everyone can find something to draw inspiration from. Special installations by Jomike Tejido and Artlab’s Maxine Syjuco will add more flair to the affair. If you are looking for something more unique and out of the ordinary, collectible toys, stoneware and repurposed furniture will also be showcased at the event.
Need some grub to go with the visuals? El Chupacabra, The Straits Wine Company, Windows Cafe, Bale Datung, The Kitchen, and Desserts by Ginny, among others, will be at the park to please your (literal) palate.
What Art in the Park offers is not just affordable pieces, but a time to get together to appreciate natural and man-made art. After all, you need all the inspiration and motivation you can get to survive another dreaded Monday.
