So you’re looking for your first job

MANILA, Philippines - I’m kind of a job whore. “Job hopper” might be the more politically correct term to de- scribe myself, but having had a hand in multiple careers (some- times even simultaneously), I think we can agree that I’m a certifiable ho.

Fresh out of college, I spent a few months as an intelligence ana- lyst, which mostly involved telling rich people how to spend their money. I did this while I would burn off a ridiculous amount of my monthly salary on lipstick or shoes I’d only wear twice, so I wasn’t exactly walking the talk.

If you will, I was a lot like Becky Bloomwood from Confessions of a Shopaholic, and not just for the ob- vious reasons. Becky and I took up jobs that we weren’t particularly good at, until we found ourselves working in places that really spoke of our passions (her a personal shopper, and myself the future Mrs. Harry Styles).

There’s a deap-seated sense of fulfillment that comes with finding the job of your dreams, so I came up with a little quiz to help you fig- ure out where your career compass points to. Sure, part of the fun is figuring that out for yourself, but do you really wanna be a job ho? I didn’t think so. Art by Maine Manalansan
