PHLPost issues 2014 Year of the Horse stamps
MANILA, Philippines - Now, you can let snail mail gallop towards the receiver.
The PHPost recently released Chinese New Year stamps, each measuring 40 mm x 30 mm. Printed by Amstar Co. Inc., the stamps were created by PHLPost in-house layout artists Jose Antonio A. Jayme and Jan Michael A. Manuel.
The stamps feature the stylized head of a horse and the stylized horse priced at P10 and P30 respectively.
PHLPost has printed 7,000 pieces of souvenir sheets priced at P80 each.
People born in the Year of the Horse are extremely animated, active and energetic.
Chinese astrology uses one’s birthdate and time to predict their fortune. The astrological birth chart is built on the Chinese astrology calendar, which is a combination of counting systems of yin-yang, five elements and 12 animals. The Five Elements are Metal, Water, Wood, Fire and Earth. The 12 animals are Rat, Cow, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Chicken, Dog and Pig.
