MANILA, Philippines - Sometimes, weekends should be more than going to the malls and grabbing a drink after.

Reconnect with the great outdoors for some quality R and R.

Walks in the park are quickly being replaced by walks in the mall, which was why a troop to the nearest commons felt like the great alternative that day. The sun did its part and so did we as we reminisced on what it meant to spend a Saturday morning in the green outdoors. The fields were vacant, the air golden, goal posts tattered, tamarinds overripe — it was a periphery of nature’s finest, much better than the periphery of zombies lining up outside J.Co in Greenbelt. It was the sunshine we needed, the weekend we wanted.
