Art grabs for a #YolandaPH fundraiser

The Philippine Star

Featuring the work of Leeroy New, BJ Pascual, Ryan Villamael, Dan Matutina, Shaira Luna, Your Evil Twin, Luis Santos, Carina Santos, Tof Zapanta, Rob Cham, Soleil Ignacio, Tokwa Penaflorida, and more.

MANILA, Philippines - Young Star is doing an art drive for the victims of Yolanda. We’re getting some of our favorite young artists to share some of their work and then putting them up for sale online. All of the proceeds will go to fund relief operations in affected areas.

“Why not just donate?” a pundit might say. Why don’t the artists and photographers we assembled for this drive just donate money? In a perfect world, of course, they would do just that, donate our hypothetical millions and call it a day. And a lot of them have done that—not to mention their time and efforts.

But the truth is, young creatives sometimes have more talent than money. Sometimes, they have bigger imaginations than bank accounts. And while time and efforts are easily doled out, it’s a surplus of talent that is really the resource. And if their work can push other people to donate more? All the better.

So check out the online sale and get the chance to acquire limited-edition prints from photographers like BJ Pascual, Shaira Luna, An and En Estrada of YourEvilTwin, Cholo Dela Vega, Gabby Cantero, Sonny Thakur, and Tim Serrano, as well as art from the likes of Leeroy New, Ryan Villamael, Luis Santos, Dan Matutina, Carina Santos, Tof Zapanta, Soleil Ignacio, and Tokwa Penaflorida.

Here are some the pieces we received as of press time. But as the pieces trickle in, we’ll post everything on our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/YoungStarPhils), Twitter (@YoungStarPhils), and Instagram (@YoungStarPhils). The online sale ends on November 20.
