Creative writing workshop for teens this summer
MANILA, Philippines - Who says summer is only for the beach? Harness your inspiration and write the right way this summer with The Write Way (TWW), a holistic 15-day creative writing program designed to help teens discover and develop their writers’ voice.
Open to teenagers 13 to 18 years old, TWW is in its sixth year as a fun, creative and empowering experience for the young writer. Sessions include writing poetry, short stories, creative non-fiction, exploration of the wonders of words through music, visual arts and photography; field trips and on-site writing (yes, even trips to the mall can somehow inspire poetry).
TWW provides a supportive and fun atmosphere for creative writing and group sharing as well. The workshop will be given by Tintin Ongpin-Montes, a freelance writer and upper school teacher at the Manila Waldorf School. Guest writers are also expected to give talks on the writing process.
TWW sessions will be held Mondays through Fridays at the ISIP Center (near Ateneo Law Schools, Rockwell Drive) at 6241 Palma corner Manalac Street, Poblacion, Makati City. The workshop will start on April 1 at 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon, and end on April 19, 2013. Workshop fee includes workshop kit and anthology of students’ works. To register, please contact Tintin Montes at 0916-5976465 or email tintinmontes@gmail.com or ISIP.Philippines@yahoo.com
