The great laid-back outdoors

- Roxy M. Valencerina - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Kids nowadays are all about the laid-back look. It’s about looking put together, but at the same time, not coming across as too trying hard. On hot days, throwing on shorts and a shirt is as laid back as it’s going to get, but as the season changes, laid-back looks get a make-over as well.

Clothing brand Hang Ten continues the sunny California vibe with Cotton Project, their new line of looks to usher in the cooler season. The year, Cotton Project brings the outdoors to the city with clothes that evoke the rugged lumberjack and the modern outdoor woman.

Cotton Project channels the cool mountain man in flannel shirts and plaid button-down shirts paired with classic khakis and slim-cut trousers. For those moments when temperature suddenly drop, there are parka jackets and windbreakers in the Cotton Project, both available in tones of olive, green, and brown. Neutral shades are perfect for any outfit. Throw on that jacket, automatically, the whole look is pulled together.

Women can finally stop raiding their boyfriends’ closets for the boyfriend look. The women’s line for Cotton Project channels the men’s lumberjack grit, but with slimmer silhouettes and finer tailoring. Paired with classic cotton tops, women can also nuzzle in parkas and fur lined pique jackets. Both jackets are available in subdued colours like the men’s line, but with pops of colour like red.

While keeping in mind comfort and style, the Cotton Project makes the laid-back easy again.
