Today FYI: James Jean back in Manila
MANILA, Philippines - Taiwanese-American visual artist James Jean is due back in Manila in January 2012. In his return trip to the Philippines, after a November 2009 jaunt that took him to Philippine Ad Congress, he’s looking to share his expertise in a series of talks.

Probably best known for his work for the Vertigo’s graphic novel series Fables and Gerard Way’s (of My Chemical Romance fame) Umbrella Academy, Jean has dabbled in all forms of media—from fashion advertising (Prada and Philip Lim) to publications (ESPN, Rolling Stone, Playboy, The New York Times, among others) to his own published works: Process Recess, Process Recess 2: Portfolio, Xoxo: Hugs and Kisses, Fables: Covers, Process Recess 3: The Hallowed Seam, Kindling: 12 Removable Prints, Rift, and Rebus.
Jean is the recipient of multiple awards, including seven Eisners, three Harveys, a gold medal from the Society of Illustrators of New York, and a silver medal from the Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles.
