MANILA, Philippines - December brings in a new reason to be jolly by bringing in one of Broadway’s most celebrated musicals, Rent. 9 Works Theatrical, together with Power Plant Cinema, produce the show’s limited run in celebration of the latter’s 10th Anniversary.
Armed with a new breed of talent, Rent once again tells the unforgettable and timeless story of a group of starving bohemian artists in the Lower East Village of New York City. Despite poverty and illness, they all learned to struggle with love and life, and survived during the rise of a mysterious, deadly disease known as AIDS. Eventually, all of them found their voices and brought a universal message of hope for everyone.
Directed by Robbie Guevara, Rent runs until Dec. 12 every 8 p.m. There will be an earlier show today and Sunday at 4 p.m., and tomorrow at 3:30 p.m.
