MANILA, Philippines - Paramore fans can find a golden butterfly inside “Brand New Eyes” or download Brick By Boring Brick and The Only Exception on their phones to get a chance to win tickets to the Paramore concert on March 9, 8:30 p.m., at SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds.
The band’s music video for The Only Exception (which premiered on paramore.net last Feb. 14 to coincide with Valentine’s Day) features Hayley Williams embracing her vulnerable and feminine side as she lies on a bed of real love letters from Paramore fans. The song is the third released track off of their newest album, “Brand New Eyes” and is the first ballad the band has ever released as a single. The Only Exception will premiere this weekend on popular music channels. The video was based on a treatment written by Hayley, and was directed by longtime Paramore collaborator Brandon Chesbro.
Releasing a ballad like this is a bit risky, when fans are so used to their upbeat and catchy tracks. However, with a band like Paramore, there is confidence in taking this chance. It’s different, but it will definitely stick in fans’ head and will keep the singing, “But darling you are the only exception.” The members of Paramore are pretty interested to see how the world reacts to their more emotional side.
As The Only Exception starts to enter the airwaves, the band has also included Philippines in their Australian and Asian Tour.
