“I was in a comfort zone and it was hard to accept that it was about to end,” says Bea. I miss my philosophy and theology classes. I miss having my professors who share a thought or two about life and all its complications. I miss school plays, cheap cafeteria food… everything about college. It’s hard to let go once you get in that comfort zone.”

But for Bea, the uncertainty of life after school comes with its own adrenaline rush. “Graduating from college is entering a new stage of life, which I am so intent on exploring.”

“I have yet to decide whether I will study fashion marketing in Parson’s or go to London School of Arts for Cosmetic Science,” shares Bea. The lure of independence is strong, but it does have its tradeoffs. “Living alone abroad would be very challenging for me. I am very attached to my family and I can’t even imagine not seeing my friends. But I am excited as well as I know it will force me to be more independent.

“I know my personal style will evolve in a more daring way,” she adds. “Since individuality is encouraged, I will have more confidence to experiment and to define my personal style.”
