MANILA, Philippines - Today and on Aug. 2, Rockwell presents FashiEn, a whole weekend of nature-inspired festivities.
Happening at the Archaeology Wing, FashiEn (Fashion for the Environment) aims to rouse environmental consciousness through fashion, art, music and sports.
Today, there will be cocktails and a fashion show featuring nature-inspired pieces and accessories by the various Archaeology stores like Moonshine, Wisdom, Ilaya and Team Manila. Promising designers from the School of Fashion and the Arts (SoFA) Retail Lab like Amour, Willow and Mafia will take to the ramp to show off their creations made out of environment-friendly materials. Film buffs can also enjoy a special showing of 11th Hour, a documentary hosted by Leonardo Di Caprio that explores the state of our planet Earth and how we can attempt to change it, at the Archaeology Wing.
Filipino band Nycó Macá + PLAYgROUND will have its album launch on the same day.
On Aug. 2, Rockwell Center will host a cycling competition by the North Star Investment Philippines titled “Sigaw ng Kalikasan” from 6 a.m. until 11 a.m.
Other activities ongoing until Aug. 2 are a nature photo exhibit by Bantay Kalikasan, an environmental preservation organization established by ABS-CBN and a furniture exhibit by Milo Naval, whose works are influenced by the concept of recycling and whose exposure extends to fashion capitals like Paris and Milan.
