MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) is presenting four entertaining and colorful productions that are rich with all educational value and appeal.

‘Noli At Fili Dekada Dos Mil’
Expect to laugh and cry, be shaken and be awed. Wonderfully crafted by esteemed director Soxie Topacio, Noli at Fili Dekada Dos Mil has the right ingredients for a blockbuster. Writer Dr. Nic Tiongson, respected academic and Philippine culture expert adapts Rizal’s two most famous novels and interprets them into one contemporary narrative inspired by the Quezon landslide tragedy. Performances are slated for July 17 to August 9, Fridays to Sundays at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
‘Mga Kuwento Ni Lola Basyang’
Get ready for a legendary musical experience as our loving Lola re-tells three of Severino Reyes’ folktales: Ang Prinsipeng Mahaba ang Ilong, Ang Binibining Tumalo sa Mahal na Hari, and Ang Prinsipeng Duwag. Meet mythical characters and enjoy singing along contemporary pop music mix. Mga Kuwento ni Lola Basyang is written by Christine Bellen and directed by Phil Noble. Available for mobile presentations from July 2009 to June 2010
‘Ismail At Isabel’
A lyrical and melodic story that will forever change our view of the children of the streets. The narrative focuses on two children, Ismail at Isabel, a Christian and a Muslim who once lived in a village where Muslims and Christians lived harmoniously. Eventually shattered by war and violence they become refugees and get separated in the bustling city. Their only cause for hope is to tell and re-tell stories and folktales that their parents once told them and to after all, find a place where peace reigns over people’s differences. Ismail at Isabel is written by Rody Vera and directed by Maribel Legarda. Performances are slated for Aug. 28 to Oct. 2, Fridays to Sundays at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
