Shakin' sporty summer

MANILA, Philippines - Shakey’s recently held its V-League Summer Camp for girls aged nine to 14. 

With the leadership of Shakey’s management team, expertise of Sports Vision Management Group Inc., and the wonderful warmth and care of the volleyball mentors, trainers and coaches, the children learned a variety of the volleyball skills they signed up to learn at the summer camp.

The summer camp is an offshoot of Shakey’s advocacy program, the Shakey’s V-League, which the brand has been running for five years. The people at Shakey’s believe that sports — in this case, volleyball — is an educational tool. From its inauguration in 2004, Shakey’s V-League has been a huge success with additional colleges and universities signing up for the V-League every year.

The summer camp boasted stellar mentors like NCAA two-time MVP Ann Latigay, Shakey’s V-League MVP Suzanne Roces, national team players Jinni Mondejar and Mary Jean Balse. Other players tapped as mentors were stellar sisters Michelle and Mayette Carolino, De Vanadera, Teresa Iratay, and Margarita Pepito. Renowned trainers and coaches Parley Tupaz, Joy Gorostiza, Boyet de Moro, Leonardo Toyco, and Obet Javier also participated.
