MANILA, Philippines - Colegio de San Juan de Letran, in partnership with the Advertising Foundation of the Philippines, convened delegates from various schools when it held AdSpeak ’09, a student convention on values advertising.
The event was conducted at the Student Center Auditorium of Colegio de San Juan de Letran in Intramuros, Manila.
AdSpeak ’09 aimed to impress on future communicators the importance of advertising with positive values. Advertising experts who shared their insights during the whole-day affair were Ricky Gonzales, creative director of JimenezBasic; Robert Labayen, head of creative communications, ABS-CBN; Matec Villanueva, chairman and CEO of Publicis Manila; and Nandy Villar, managing director, McCann Erickson Philippines.
Aside from talks from resource speakers, AdSpeak ’09 mounted its Values Advertising Awards, chosen by the resource speakers, and the Students’ Choice Awards, judged by the student delegates. Commercials that upheld values were created and entered by students in four categories: Print, Radio, TV and Campaign.
For the Values Values Advertising Awards, the big winners were students from Lyceum University (Best TV PSA and Best Campaign PSA), Colegio de San Juan de Letran (Best Radio PSA) and Ateneo de Manila University (Best Print PSA).
The Students’ Choice Awards were won by students from Lyceum University (Best Campaign PSA and Best Radio PSA), Polytechnic University of the Philippines (Best Print PSA) and Colegio de San Juan de Letran (Best TV PSA).
The event was supported by Enervon Multivitamins, Johnson’s Pure Essentials, ABS CBN, Envidia, Choco Lava, Nissin’sYakisoba, Jack’n Jill Potato Chips, Oxypur, Coffee House Iced Coffee and Drysdale Juice.
