Be the next volleyball superstar

MANILA, Philippines - Shakey’s and Sports Vision Management Group, Inc., are working towards restoring the recognition of the Philippines as Asia’s volleyball powerhouse team. Shakey’s has been active in its commitment to support the volleyball program for high school and college students. The company believes that developing a grass-roots program focusing on volleyball will strengthen the youth’s interest in developing their skills in this sport.

March 29 will mark the birth of a new and exciting stage of their lives with the Shakey’s V-League Summer Camp 2009! This grass-roots program will develop girls’ skill in sports. It is an in-depth training from the country’s top Shakey’s V-League volleyball players and coaches for girls to be the best athletes they can be!

The Shakey’s V-League Summer Camp is an intensive, eight-day program open to girls aged nine to 14, primarily because this is deemed the perfect age for girls to start a stellar career in volleyball.

For a minimal fee of only P2,500, each participant is given a training kit containing an official Shakey’s V-League Summer Volleyball camp shirt, sports bottle, sports bag, face towel, and volleyball with meal stubs for all the days.

Stellar names like NCAA 2-time MVP Laurence Ann Latigay, Shakey’s V-League MVP Suzanne Roces, national team player Jinni Mondejar, and Mary Jean Balse will be teaching the kids. Also included in the roster of esteemed players are Michelle and Mayette Carolino, Teresa Iratay, and Margarita Pepito. Renowned trainers and coaches Parley Tupaz, Joy Gorostiza, Boyet de Moro, Leonardo Toyco and Obet Javier have committed their time to help teach participants in the Shakey’s V-League Summer Camp 2009. 

The camp will cover everything from volleyball basics and techniques to game strategy. With skills learned through this summer camp, one can definitely use the camp as a springboard to volleyball greatness.

Recruitment started last March 1 and ends on March 25 and the Shakey’s V-League Summer Camp is set to take place on March 29 at the Ateneo Blue Eagle Gym.
